High Value bits

This post by Rod Drury makes for very interesting reading as does his blog. I think that it is going to be interesting as the merger of the internet and TV continues. Thankfully content is still going to be the key to gaining audience. The audience is unforgiving, discerning and should never be under estimated. And in this loved up branded world we now occupy they decide what things are, we don’t tell them. Think about all the movies you were told were going to leave you spell bound with an experience you were never going to forget, I bet you did, forget – and very quickly. As the audience decides it is the content providers who best respond that will make or break the suppliers, we should all remember that in the main VHS, blue ray, betamax, DVD, HDTV, IPTV, VOD are wires and chips and simply a means to deliver. Crap content is unfortunately just as crap on HDTV as it would be on Low Def VHS. Content is the heart soul and mind. Those who say yes we’ll but that have a skill, those who sit with a blank sheet of paper and fill it with a great idea are few, far between and should be cherished. And I guess that was really the heart of the writers strike. Still one question, how are we going to pay for all this.
